Strong showing for Bann-Lynch stable at Transitions Championship
It was another successful week on the US PGA Tour for Steve Bann and Dale Lynch's charges with Mathew Goggin and Stuart Appleby both finishing inside the top 10 at the Transitions Championship at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Tampa Bay, Florida. Mathew Goggin matched the best round of the day with a sizzling 4 under par 67 on the tough par 71 layout. The solid final round performance saw him vault 15 places up the leaderboard to finish in a 3 way tie for 4th position at (-6) and just 2 shots behind eventual winner Retief Goosen of South Africa. This excellent result could not have come at a better time for Goggin who started the week at 57th in the Official World Golf Rankings and desperate to break into the top 50 in order to qualify for the Masters. As some of you may already know, Mathew is coached by Pure Golf Training coach, Dale Lynch. Stuart Appleby also had a solid week finishing in a 3 way tie for 8th place at (-4). While Apples would have hoped for a better final round (72), he will surely be encouraged by his strong showing this week particularly in the 2nd round when he shot a brilliant 67. Stuart has been busy working under the watchful eye of longtime coach Steve Bann, and seems to be adjusting to equipment changes made earlier in the year. With the major season approaching, Stuart is intensely focused on his training program and deep into his Improvement Cycle. Tour players nowadays understand and appreciate the importance of proper physical preparation and conditioning for golf. This is why both Mathew Goggin and Stuart Appleby use the LeaderBoard Golf Training Aid as part of their golf specific fitness and training program.
